Timely Topics Discussion Group
The Dale Association Timely Topics group (fka: Humanities) meets from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. every first and third Friday of the month at the Dale Association Building 33 Ontario Street. New participants are always welcome. There is a $1.00 fee for members of The Dale Association; a slightly higher fee for non-members. The group has discussions on issues of local and world interest. Group facilitator Marion Hannigan invites speakers and uses lectures, reading and videos to launch discussion. Here's what's planned:

Friday, January 6, 2012 - Beverly Federspiel, Director, Lockport Public Library: "Library Services" (e-books, computers, homebound services, etc.). Also, "Good Reads for Snowy Nights".

Friday, January 20 - Edna Stubbs, Historical Presenter on Belva Lockwood, Niagara County resident, Lockport teacher, first woman to practice before the US Supreme Court, candidate two times for President, active in the Suffragette Movement and World Peace Movement.

Friday, February 3 - Anne Marie Linnabery, Assistant Director and Education Coordinator of Niagara County History Center - "Examining the Beginnings of the Lockport Churches in the 19th Century" (power point presentation).

Friday, February 17 - Melissa Dunlap, Executive Director of the Niagara County History Center - "Famous women of Niagara County who made great contributions to Niagara County and Beyond".

Tea Party
Join us on Monday, February 13 at 1:00 p.m. for our quarterly tea party with Beth Guilmart and the Dale Tea Roses! Wear your favorite hat and please bring your best tea cup (if you have one). RSVP today by calling: 433-1886. Cost: $6.50 members / $10.00 non-members.

Art Class with Beth
Come and join Beth for this fun and simple art class every Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. You will leave with a finished project at the end of every class. All supplies are included. Cost: $5 per class.

Niagara County Bottle Redemption
The Dale Association will earn 5 1/2 cents for each can, glass bottle, plastic and water bottle, that is taken to the Niagara County Bottle Redemption Centre. They are located on Lake Avenue in Wrights Corners across from Dollar General. Thanks for your help and support - every little bit helps.

Social Sewers
The Social Sewers meet on Monday mornings at 9:30 a.m.  They are currently working on blankets to be donated to local charities.  Sewers of all levels are welcome to join the group. The coffee's on us! 

Candy Making Volunteers
We will be making candy items ad caramel popcorn each Tuesday morning at 9:30 a.m. All items are sold at our front desk. We have lots of fun and maybe even get to try a sample or two. If you have any questions please call Janet Fedak at 433-1089.

Centre Quilters
The Centre quilting group meets every Wednesday from 1 - 3 p.m. and all members of The Dale Association are invited to join.  Whether you're an experienced quilter or just starting out, this group's for you.  Different projects are offered on a weekly basis with an occasional all day workshop and field trip thrown in.  Stop in on Wednesdays to see what working on.  Cost:  $1 per member, plus supplies.   

Keenagers Club
The Keenagers Club is for any single senior who enjoys meeting others, going for lunch, and attending local events.  Call Judy Schultz at 795-9374, if interested in becoming a member.  Meetings are September thru June, usually the 3rd Thursday of the month.

Traveling Entertainers: "The Bag Ladies"
The Traveling Entertainment group is comprised of fun-loving women, age 60 and older, who perform at meetings, functions and events in the Western New York area. The act includes "The Bag Ladies", and "Line Dancers". The group provides a positive image of aging with their energy, hilarious antics, and sassyness. Their talent for playing an audience has made them a favorite among all ages. To book a performance, call: 433-1886.

Income Tax Preparation
Do you need your 2011 income taxes prepared? Call us today to schedule your appointment at 433-1886. This service is free to Niagara County residents but donations are greatly appreciated. Appointments available starting Feb. 1 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 9:00-3:00. Bring your 2011 income tax information and your completed 2010 tax return with you to your appointment.

An Afternoon Delight Basket Raffle and Luncheon
Bring your friends and plan to join us for our annual spectacular basket auction at Cornell Cooperative Extension's banquet hall, with catering by Donna Eick, Saturday, April 14. Doors open at 11:00 a.m. and lunch is served at 12:30 p.m. Tickets: $25.00 include lunch and 5 raffle tickets and are available by calling 433-1886, or by visiting The Dale Association at 33 Ontario Street.
